Dog Swallow Dog was an American game bear witness, which originally ran from June 17, 2002 to August 26, 2003. It was based on the United kingdom version of the testify by the aforementioned name. It was hosted past Brooke Burns, and had contestants compete against each other in concrete competitions, trivia, and other contrasted games for a prize of $25,000.

Main game [edit]
Six players spend a day together at a grooming camp before arriving at the studio for the show. A challenge is described, and the players each vote for the one they desire to send into it. The player receiving the virtually votes takes the challenge. Failure to complete it sends the histrion to the "Canis familiaris Pound" and eliminates him/her from play, while completing it allows the role player to send one of the people who voted for him/her to the "Dog Pound."
Iv challenges are played in this mode. If a tie vote occurs on the outset one, a histrion is chosen at random to pause it, on all subsequent challenges, the concluding player eliminated acts as the tiebreaker. The final two players compete in a fifth, caput-to-head challenge, such as Fish Throwing and Wall Climbing, with the winner being officially declared that night's "Top Dog" and the loser going to the "Canis familiaris Pound." The "Top Dog" and so faces the other five players in a trivia challenge in which $25,000 is awarded to the winning side.
Final round [edit]
The previously determined "Tiptop Dog" faces the five members of the "Domestic dog Pound." A category is shown, like Music, Food and Potable, Movies, Business, Sports, Famous People, Politics, History, Animals, Manner, Telly, Celebrities, Education, Medicine, Video Games/Games, Geography, Transportation, Theater, and more than, and the Superlative Domestic dog chooses a fellow member of the Dog Pound who they recall cannot answer a question in that category. Each contestant can be chosen simply in one case. If the Canis familiaris Pound member answers correctly, the Dog Pound scores a point, if non, the Tiptop Dog scores a point. The start side to score three points wins the game and $25,000 (the v Dog Pound members receiving a divided $five,000 each if they win).

Ladder Bike | Crawl effectually a round ladder hanging in the air in a express amount of time of two minutes and capture the flag. |
Earthquake Isle | Climb up a ladder mounted on a tilting island with pelting in a limited time of ii minutes or 2-and-a-half minutes. |
Flag Capture | Climb a net and get the greatest number of flags in a express amount of time of two minutes or 2-and-a-one-half minutes. |
He or She | Given a panel of about six subjects, approximate which one was the female person (or male) out of the grouping. This normally involved having v cantankerous-dressing men and ane female, with the contestant having to guess which 1 of them was the female. |
Little Genius | Play a trivia game against a child prodigy. |
Strip Games | The contestant was required to perform a feat of skill of some sort, every fourth dimension the player made a mistake, he or she was required to remove 1 commodity of clothing. If the feat was accomplished earlier the role player missed the attempt completely naked, the mission was completed. Some of the stripping stunts included throwing a beanbag or a football into a target, making a hole-in-one on a miniature golf game pigsty (with each removed article of vesture allowing the role player to movement closer to the hole), darts (where the contestant had to forfeit an article of wear in commutation for a dart), and hangman (with each missed letter costing an article of clothing). The strip games were discontinued in the second season. |
Water Walk | Walk on a platform while being hit by water. The contestant has to release 2 ruby-red flags and get in dorsum to the outset before the fourth dimension experies. |

Tear Gene | The contestant has 90 seconds to cry based on thoughts and/or what the members in the Dog Pound are maxim. At least i tear must clear their confront for them to win. The name of this stunt was a parody of the striking reality show Fear Factor. |
Pandora's Box | Catch floating water markers and bring them to a box submerged underwater with a limited time of 2 minutes. |
Vomit Comet | The contestant is placed in a contraption that spins them around while the crane it is attached to is besides spinning 360 degrees. Brooke reads various names of places or titles, and the contestant has to land the exact number of vowels in the proper noun. The contestant has ninety seconds to requite 8 right answers to win. |
Pendulum Swing | The contestant is placed inside a swing and has to gain plenty momentum to maneuver the cage 1 full circle with a limited fourth dimension of two minutes. Failure to complete the full circle lands the contestant in the dog pound. This is one of the challenges that carried over from the United kingdom version. |

After five minutes, the pelting machines are turned on, if both contestants concluding ten minutes, the intensity of the pelting is increased. Starting in the second season, the rain begins later two minutes. |
Wall Climbing | Contestants would climb up a wall property a central which they would utilize to unlock a box at the top. They would bound down and take a 2d cardinal to the summit and put it in the keyhole they had previously unlocked. Controversy [edit]
In the show'southward first episode, a contestant named Daren Goka had to be hospitalized after falling unconscious during a challenge where he had to hold his breath underwater.[1] [two] [iii] The contestant sued NBC, claiming that the mechanism failed and acquired him brain impairment.[4] This too resulted in simply iv members participating in the final challenge; these 4 failed to win the money.
